The IncrediblesI saw The Incredibles last night and for those who haven't watched it yet, you're missing out. If you have a girl, bring her out and watch it. If you have an illegitamate son, bring him out and watch it too. In this day and age where there are so many movies to watch but so little time, I definitely think it'd be worthwhile to take some time and go see The Incredibles. The majority of animated films nowadays are enjoyable but they really don't do it for me in terms of entertainment. Obviously the CG will usually be great and the films usually all have funny lines, but that's about the extent of animated movies. Now I did enjoy Shrek 1 & 2 but I don't consider them to be in the same category as other animated films because the humor in Shrek is a little more adult-based. (I'm sure many of the young kids who went to watch Shrek probably didn't understand half the jokes and references in that film) In terms of Disney films, there really wasn't anything that stuck out or made a big impression on me, until now. The Incredibles delivers humor that both adults and kids can appreciate. I really think Pixar and Disney did an excellent job this time creating and producing an animated film that appeals to all ages. Maybe this will help Disney with their unstable future. What essentially made me enjoy The Incredibles in particular were the creative plots, ideas, and lines that constantly slapped and poked my brain. Only this film and the Shrek series made me truly realize that there are indeed extremely creative people amongst us. - - - - - - - - - - Two Week RecapThere were just too many things that appened in the past two weeks to write about, things I would classify more as reflection than anything else. I've been busy thinking about those things amidst juggling more work than three mules are capable of hauling. Speaking of work, if any of you know of a Japanese in Tokyo who has 10-15 years of Accounting and Finance experience AND who has either a CPA, MBA, or both, drop me a line and I'll introduce that person to an up and coming entertainment firm with stock options. Gracie's B-day BashYup, it was Gracie's B-day and we celebrated at Cinespace. Before hitting the club, I went to Star Shoez with two of my coworkers, but unfortuntely they couldn't make it to the club because they got intoxicated too quickly. Fortunately, I found more friends at a nearby parking lot and we were able to party it up. Happy b-day Gracie! You finally got your sneakers back. ratatat tat. We ended up going to the Highlands and thanks to Reena's bad old self, we got to bypass the long immigration line that formed on the fourth floor and were able to get priority entrance on the first floor. Not only that, but Reena's friends were able to get me in for free with VIP access. That's right - A rooster got in for free at Highlands. Maybe it was because the whole night started right and so my perspective was already biased but I have NEVER tasted Patron that was as good as it was at Highlands. Man oh man. That night was really fun, especially in the VIP room because they played consistently good hip hop unlike the main dance floor which played enough variety to make a kid with ADHD go crazy. Anyway, thanks for that invite and happy b-day again Reena! Hope that guy called you back! Yeah, I know you know who I'm talking about girl. CrossroadI've officially come to a point in my life where there are just too many possibilities; too many avenues to explore; to many oceans to set sail on. I guess this has always been one of the fundamental flaws in my life - the ability to run to so many different places yet not being able to arrive at any exact destination. At this moment in time, (even as I am typing this) I can vividly see two roads ahead of me, separating into the shadows of tomorrow. I know whatever path I decide to take, I will indefinitely know where I will end at. I just hope I don't regret not taking the other road. What makes this even more interesting is that one of my homegirls, Reena, read my palm one night during dinner about a month ago and she told me that I had two paths to choose between. One path involved me becoming ridiculously educated. I would be fairly well off financially speaking on that route. The other path entailed me becoming tremendously wealthy through unknown means. Why I find this prediction interesting is because this is exactly the type of conundrum I find before me. I'm not sure if the end result will be as Reena stated, but I can see it unraveling as such. Maybe my self-cognition of the possibilities that exist and my logical reasoning influenced by Reena's predictions are having too much unprotected intercourse with each other. What to do, what to do... I guess only time and meditation will tell. - - - - - - - Stacey's FarewellStacey decided to leave for the bay and she left exactly two Sundays ago. We ended up going to Prey to celebrate her departure and new job. Stace, good luck with the Event Planning position and I'll see you when you come back to So Cal cuz you know everyone who leaves eventually comes back. There weren't as many people dressed up during the weekend as I figured there would have been. It was a good weekend get-away with naturally lots of food and although we had to wait over 2 hours in a line for a club that we didn't even get into, I still had a blast clubbing at the other club, Curve, and gambling the fat in my wallet away. When I woke up on Sunday, I never thought I'd be offering mountain dew to the porcelin gods in front of the Berlin Wall. Guess you just never know. Sick as a Diseased-ridden DickSo I caught something when I woke up yesterday morning. My throat was so irritated it felt as if I was barbecuing my tonsils with a tabasco sauce marinade. My head seemed so hot I thought I was going to melt my pillow. But I tore the bed sheets off, popped in a Tylenol Cold and Flu tablet, and proceeded to get ready for work. The Tylenol soon wore out mid-way through the day and I found myself wondering why I came into work in the first place. Once I finally returned home, I drank some miso soup and tried some Airborne Formula medicine. (Supposedly promoted by celebrities and shown on Oprah - as if this is all that is needed to validate a product nowadays. Wait, I'm buying and using it myself. @#*#*$!)  Seems like a sweeter version of Alka Seltzer to meCoughing in bed last night, I started reading a book on how to fight traffic tickets because I need to file a trial of declaration to appeal my speeding violation soon. Before finishing the second chapter, my nose asked me permission to go running. I sternly said no, but my nose turned around and started running away. What a bastard. I ended last night with a roll of toilet paper near my bed. I hate it when my nose thinks it can win the next marathon. This morning, I woke up and knew right away I couldn't go to work. Unfortunately, work also didn't want to stay in the office. I ended up talking to clients on and off for practically the whole morning before drinking some more soup for lunch. Now I finally have time to relax and I plan to finish this entry, read some more, and then get more well needed rest. - - - - - - - - Before I continue, I want to showcase this little finding. I went to the expensive Bristol Farms market located in South Pasadena and found WHITE CHEETOS. Good lo! Now if you know me and Cheetos, you know it's over before the bag leaves my hands.  And You Thought You Saw It AllIn other news, please look at the bill below  My T-Mobile bill last month ended up at $352.96!!! Geez and I was trying to watch my minutes too. It took me three phone calls and multiple holds before I was able to reduce that monster. Moral of the day: Be persistent and you'll eventually get something.It was Soo's b-day about two weeks back. We ended up going to the Yardhouse and then went bar hopping afterwards in Old town Pasadena. I'm so surprised it wasn't K-town this year Soo. hahaha. Happy b-day girl.  Soo and meIt was also LTN's b-day last week. It was decided that White Lotus would be a good place to meet at and I was able to convince Winston to go! For all those who know Winston, him going clubbing is an event in itself. hahaha. Happy b-day LTN. HALFWAY DONELSATs are done, AGAIN! Last Saturday I took the LSAT at USC along with the other wandering lemmings thinking about law school. I don't think I scored lower this time than I did last year, but weirder things HAVE happened so I'm not going to completely count that possibility out. I just know that I felt a little better coming out of the test this year than I did last year. It's strange too because this year I really didn't prepare as much because I had to juggle work with studying. Last year I practically camped out at Borders and the Pasadena Library... Now I have to write the infamous impersonal statement. Hope I have less than 10 versions this time around. Since the last update, I really haven't been up to much. I was able to get off work early everyday to study for my LSATs. Now that that chapter of my life is over and done with, I've reverted back to my regular working schedule, full of overtime and stringent deadlines. I still haven't decided which is worse - the intensity of balancing my studies with work or dealing my lots of work all at once.  The OfficeSpeaking of work, two of my coworkers and I went to Scott Love's seminar in Anaheim about two weeks ago. It was about how to recruit better and bill more than we ever thought possible. And although I learned some interesting techniques and concepts, I realized that Sales really is an artform that can always be perfected more. In any case, the highlight of that day was not being able to meet Mr. Love in the flesh, but going to Tortilla Jo's in downtown Disney. That restaurant has 150 different kinds of tequila. 150!!! Unfortunately, Kwang, Ellie and I all drove separately and we didn't get to enjoy the full benefits of that restaurant. That was a loooooooooong night, especially since I had to wake up early the next morning to host an open house at the San Diego condo. Anyway, good times. Happy 26 Z!!! Trying to prevent my cold from getting worse, I bought some cough drops that were supposed to work wonders. 18 drops for $6.00. The supposedly claim was that this product could help one get over a cold quicker. Go figure. Verdict? I dunno - I took one and wanted to throw up afterwards... Course it does say to eat something before you take it, but negative reinforcement can be very persuasive. Guess I'll have to ride this cold out.
