Got Goals?
Here is a little something I recently read in a real estate investment book. It makes sense that the authors included this little section about goals early in their book, but I didn't expect it to be this thought provoking for me. Their advice might sound overly logical and simplistic, but I think few of us have actually thought about this.
...Your goals are the shortcuts to the desired destinations of your life. Goals are not essential for life, as many people never grasp the advantage of setting meaningful goals or never set any kind of goal at all. Not having any goals or setting the wrong kinds of goals does not mean you will not arrive at a destination. However, it leaves the choice of that destination and the timetable you will follow to others or to indecision....
...For a goal to work for you it must have four qualities. It must be attainable, measurable, tied to a timetable, and clearly defined...

Today at my job, I had the pleasure of interviewing a train wreck. This particular applicant seemed decent over the phone, but when he came to our offices for an in-person interview, I thought I was dreaming. This guy was so over the top I couldn't even see him when I looked up. During the interview I couldn't quiet the loud "Oh my god" phrases echoing inside my head. First of all, this guy discussed his discontent over his previous employment, closed his eyes 3/4 of the time during the 45 minute interview, and openly shared his fetish for asians in one of his answers. Yup, can't get much better than that.

Here are some pictures of SNL last Saturday with Lindsay Lohan as the hostess. The first picture is the scene from the parody of Harry Potter. For me, the funniest part of that scene was not the attention surrounding Lindsay's breasts, but how close that SNL chick resembles Harry Potter! Lol.
