An All Too Familiar Morning:
7:00 a.m.- I drop anvils on my two screaming alarm clocks, turn off my stereo timer via remote control, and sit up in my bed. A cloud of haziness clings to my vision, refusing to let go. My eyes try to benchpress my eyelids a little higher. Feeling like a patient on morphine, I crawl out of bed and head to the bathroom only to be greeted by the frigid air. Dousing my face with cold water, my languor starts to drip off, like the water streaming down my face. Time to get ready for work.
7:30 a.m.- I'm driving towards the 210 freeway entrance. The onramp signal angrily glares at me. Then, like the tempestuous tides of yesterdays storm, the animosity suddenly disappears. I press down on the gas pedal and merge into the right lane.
7:50 a.m.- Trudging slower on the 110 Freeway than a senior citizen walking on a tightrope, Big Boy and Steve Harvey try to amuse me. Sometimes Ryan Seacrest's voice booms within the hollowness of my car.
8:20 a.m.- Driving through congested intersections, I pull into my regular parking structure and barter 6 dollars for a small stub. Quickly speeding up four stories, I reverse into my favorite spot.
8:25 a.m. - As I hit the Sky Lobby floor of my building, I swipe my card through the security checkpoint. A guard looks up from his table before casually dismissing me with a barely audible greeting.
8:27 a.m.- The elevator stops on the 20th floor and I exit. Making a right down a desolate hallway teeming with thick mahogany doors, I stop at the office towards the end.
This is where my day begins. This is where my day ends. This is my typical weekday.

My work is getting better. Or maybe I'm getting better at my work. Whatever the reason, I find myself losing track of time. I never thought I'd ever say this but how can 9 hours can seem like a mere 2 in this office? I'm also not cold calling as much anymore. I've set up my initial client database. Of course that's not to say the phone needs to be sad it's not going to get handled by me as much. Every day new contacts and prospects arise and I need to make sure these firms are aware of my company's existence.
Perhaps what is really helping my day pass is the fact that I'm getting more responsibility thrown at me. I'm in charge of developing three accounts, I help with the recruiting process, and I received my first job order request today. Not bad for someone 6 days new to this game. It's interesting to see in one month whether my days will pass by as quickly as they have been this week. If time becomes MORE estranged as the weeks pass, I'm afraid I'll be another poor soul lost in the depths of overtime.

A Collage of Excerpts From A Journal Entry
It's funny how you can isolate several phrases or words in a sentence, paste them together, and get a very different effect compared to the original sentence. Below are bits and pieces from
Dzuy's April 7th, 2004 Entry. He's not only a close friend of mine, but a very gifted writer. However, after I messed with his penmanship, he became a whole different kind of writer. hahahaha!!!
"...
Gordon went first and left me on the ground. He took his sweet time about it too. Then Shaun tapped me on the shoulder, signaling it was time. As I sat in his lap all I kept thinking was I sure hope he fastens all those straps correctly. A moment later, our feet were dangling over the edge of the plane and my arms were crossed over my chest.
I heard behind me, muffled by the roar of rushing wind, "Ready, Set, Arch!" I realized my eyes were closed for a split second and immediately snapped them opened. Another tap and I spread my arms and legs out. I gave the camera guy, Jake, an enthusiastic thumbs up and then just relaxed and tried to enjoy the ride.
Jerking me violently upward, the straps dug painfully into my legs and arms. All in all, it wasn't as scary as I had anticipated but it was still a worthwhile experience and one I'm glad I undertook. It's one more thing cross off the list of things I've always wanted to do..."
*** So my avid readers, what do you think? haha. Read Dzuy's real except by clicking on the green link above, or by going
