Small Envelope Anxiety

I feel like a high school senior all over again... No, not the onslaught of laziness induced by senioritis, but rather the feeling of restlessness and suspense caused by waiting for the responses of the schools I've applied to. We all know the proverbial slogan "Size matters." Well, that socially accepted axiom applies to my situation as well. The size of an envelope has the power to influence my emotions. Like a horny Catholic girl seeing something large, I too would initially be excited if I found a large-sized envelope from a law school tucked in the medley of my daily mail. My immediate response would be "This school didn't spend an extra two cents on this larger envelope just to tell me no."

In contrast, me receiving a small envelope from a law school in the mail would inevitably invoke feelings of pessimism. That's why the other day, when I received a small envelope from one of the schools I applied to, I dreaded opening it. But I did and . . . . . . . . they requested I fill out some financial aid information. %@^!#% Man! Well, I guess it could have been worse. The school could have sent me that financial aid letter in a large envelope. =I

Pictures of Thailand

I only got to see a small portion of Southern Thailand when I visited that country last spring. Luckily, I know a couple of people who live there so when (notice I said when and not if) I do go back, I'll have my own native tour guides! One of my friends sent me these pictures. And THIS is why I want to go back to Thailand again:

Movie Review

Taking Lives

If you aren't too sharp today, Taking Lives is a suspense/thriller about a serial killer on the loose. Starring Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke, and Keifer Sutherland, this movie is sure to get you jumping out of your seat at least once. It takes a lot to make me jump too, but one scene in particular did it. Although most thrillers keep the audience guessing who the killer is, this movie didn't really have that element. What makes it interesting in my eyes was the way it ended... Also, I've seen movies recently that have a tendency to drag, but this movie did not. Maybe that was due to the eye candy on screen though... hmmm, guess we'll never know.

Today's eye candy is the lovely Angelina Jolie. Maybe the movie has a recency effect on me, but oh well... Too sweet to ignore, here she is:
