Unspoken Rules

When it comes to dating, getting to know someone better, *insert your favorite phrase or word here*, there are just some fundamental rules that I think should be universally acknowledged. One of the most basic tenets is to not date or try to hook up with someone your friend used to date unless enough time has passed or if a marriage might arise from it all. This seems like a simple concept, but I guess some people just don't see the awkwardness this can create, or don't care to think about these matters.

Last night at Forbidden City, as I was dancing with some friends, a girl crept up to my side and wanted to dance with me. It seemed like she'd be fun to dance with so I started dancing with her. Fifteen minutes later, this girl started to get really aggressive and she might have been faded but she started to smother me, literally. I felt like a long lost stuffed animal that a 3 year old just found. This was when I started to feel weird about the whole situation and I decided to walk away. Before I did so though, I asked what this 3 year old's name was. Lo and behold, she told me that I knew her name!

Being that Forbidden City was pretty dark inside that night, I looked closer at whom I just danced with. Then it hit me like a anvil on a cartoon character's head... This girl was my friend's date that he introduced to me last month. My friend was trying to get with this girl but I didn't know how it progressed after that. I asked this girl how my friend was and she said she didn't know. That was my cue and I told her I had to go.

This girl tried to come up to me several other times that night but I was able to pull a Houdini and escape quickly. What shocks me is that this girl knows that my friend and I are pretty tight and yet she still did everything that she did that night.

Last week, I also found out about a guy friend who officially hooked up with his/our friend's ex-girlfriend. THAT was awkward because it just so happened that all three people were hanging out in the same group last week. I don't know why both the ex-girlfriend and my friend thought it would be fine to date each other but all I can say is that my other friend is mad as hell. Let's think people before we act people.

In any case, enough drama and onto the visual portion of this blog.
