Spot Me!As I was finishing up my bi's and back workout today, some guy a little taller than me asked me to spot him on the flat bench. When I walked over to him, I saw that he had four plates on each side! For those in the know, you know how heavy this is, but for those who don't know, it's 405 pounds.
I've never been so nervous about spotting someone before but if this guy suddenly lost all of his juice and needed me to really help him, I don't think I would've been able to. Fortunately, this guy still had some energy, but on his last rep, I had to help him more than I would've liked and I thought my arms were going to rip off. I don't think I'll ever agree to spot someone with that much weight alone again.
DisciplineIt's funny how a little discipline can go a long way... I really think the reason why lots of things don't ultimately get done nowadays is because there's generally a lack of discipline somewhere. Things that usually are more difficult or inconvenient for people stay difficult and inconvenent until people break their way through.
I've been guilty of letting things slow towards stagnation just because it was the easier thing to do. But, things change and so am I. Me changing will make more things change and this perpetual cycle will only stop when my ability to be disciplined and creative stops.
This must probably make no sense whatsoever for whoever is reading this but for those who need some kind of connection, there are a few things I'm going to get involved with over the next couple of months. I really believe my success will come down to how discipined I become. I'm going to make this happen though because I can tell I'm going to give it my all.
